Child Allowance

In order to assist families living in Okaya, the city government has a Child Allowance program which makes support payments to families. Those families with children under junior high school age are entitled to receive payments. The allowance is, however, income-tested. (Payments will be made up until March of the year a child finishes elementary school). Payments are deposited into recipients' bank accounts in February, June and October.

Children under 3 years old: 10,000 yen/month
Children over 3 years old
-1st child 5,000 yen/month
-2nd child 5000 yen/month
-3rd + child 10,000/month
